This Tamil remake of "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" deviates from the original, resulting in a disappointing adaptation filled with excessive negativity.
Firstly, the character of Manorama (Sundari in the Tamil version) has been completely altered. In this remake, she is the main antagonist alongside Murali (Shyam). Both characters work together to sabotage Raghav’s (Arnav's) family, which is a stark contrast to the original storyline. Even Manohar who was a more positive character, is portrayed as money-minded and unscrupulous, and willing to do anything for financial gain.
Too much of focus on Akash and Anu (Akash and Payal) with excessive screen time compared to main leads Raghav and Abi (Arnav and Khushi). Anu’s character has been reduced to non stop crying all the time.
Way too much of unnecessary drama, especially during the Akash and Anu marriage track. And worst part is NK is entirely absent, removing light-hearted moments and comedy that were the hallmark of the original series. Lavanya character is turned into vamp who desires someone’s husband and wonder where the series is heading.
This remake lacks of the charm and engaging storytelling of "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon." The overemphasis on negative characters and the sidelining of the main leads disconnects from the essence of the original.
This version might appeal to those who enjoy intense family drama, but for fans of the original, it is a major disappointment.
