Probably the best overview with the well known and especially the foot soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement. The film and the book are chock full of people you know, but especially those who are yet little known. They fought on the battlefield of what was a long struggle that began in 1619. It is still being confronted today. Eyes on the Prize is a beautifully developed documentary. The Eyes on the Prize series is worth reading and viewing every year to learn more about the warriors who did the hard and dangerous work to move a race of people closer to equality.
