Personally, this book ruined The Trials of Apollo for me. I already wasn't the biggest fan, but this pushed me over the edge. First off, there were too many plot inconsistencies throughout the whole book. Given, most of them were very minor inconsistencies, but still, Rick is better than that. For the entire book, Rick just relied on already established elements, and the book lacked all innovation or newness that you expect from a Rick Riordan book. My final complaint is the lack of development for any characters but Apollo. I feel that Reyna, in particular, could have been so much more, but at least Apollo's development was good, even though it was the only notable development I saw.
