Not wanting to stay completely faithful to a story line I get. It's very difficult to adapt a huge timeline into a 10 hour window and keep it fairly understandable for new viewers. My biggest gripe is how emotional everyone is. I get that they are trying to establish character development but theres other ways of doing it other than making soldiers emo recks. Also the insubordination is absurd. Halo Is essentially a military movie and should be written in a style upholding military values rather than a soap opera of nonsense drama. I feel like the writing staff should all be fired for just not understanding how halo should be written and at this point I would be happier if the series dies rather than completely wrecking a childhood memory. Hopefully they flip the script a little and focus more on the halo story rather than adding new ideas and characters that serve as fillers and taking a whole poor me perspective on life. The action scenes are pretty amazing though.
So in summary if any writers read this, less emotional, less insubordination, less dissension, less filler. more honor, more tuffness, more unity.
Lose all the omni bad guys it's getting dumb, make Cortona cuter, she's always been a bombshell. Stop the side stories, they are obviously lazy attempts at filler. Make master chief honorable, respectable. seriously. super annoying how he is an emotional wreck. War is tuff, those who do well in it are mentally tuff. The love interest with McGee is ridiculous lose it and just lose the entire character. she's all over the place, with the covenant, against them, loves the mast chief. Just everywhere with no identity.
