Watched this movie at school today because we had finished reading the book last semester. The best thing I can say about this movie? This is a movie that exists. The acting wasโฆokay. But a lot of these scenes had so much potential to be heartbreaking, raw and tragic, but despite the name literally having the word tragic in it, it was justโฆa failed attempt to be artsy and creepy. This looks like a high school play turned into a movie with how much each of the set design looks fake and hollow. Some of the scenes literally have the actors sitting in an empty room, looking like theyโre in an episode of the Pink Panther. None of the angles/shots were memorable either other than that one scene with Lady Macbeth near the balcony, with the stars shining. That was actually good and beautiful! But every single scene after and before that was justโฆdesolate. And not in a macabre, yet tragic kind of way. This was just bad. For an apple TV movie, you think the cinematography might at least be decent. And thatโs not even mentioning how confusing the place in time is! There is an actual scene with just normal lamps and not a single indicator of the time period at all! God, this movie was so hard to watch.
