he series portrays white men as members of the upper class—entitled, condescending, and superior—while depicting African American characters in a highly negative light, often reducing them to stereotypes of being unintelligent, loud, and weak. This contrast not only reinforces harmful racial caricatures but also strips the characters of any meaningful complexity or humanity. Additionally, the show goes out of its way to mock the Christian church, portraying pastors as clowns rather than figures of faith and leadership. Altogether, the portrayal is deeply troubling. It doesn’t sit right from any angle—racial, cultural, or moral. Frankly, I would find this offensive regardless of my background, because it disrespects entire communities and makes a mockery of real-life experiences.
The main character is suppose to be a lawyer educated from Harvard….the script does not respect or reflect this. extremely disappointing.
