Im not gonna lie, I have never written a movie review in my life but this film moved me so much and in so many different ways that I thought I needed to write a review (SPOILER'S ALERT).
Before watching this movie I never thought my past could be brought to life so vividly... as someone who almost lost their best friend to mental illness this film definitely brought out how important gratitude and foregiveness is.
Whilst I originally felt negatively about this film (particularly the first half of the movie), I began to understand how quickly we judge people based on the people's around us's impressions of them. This was one of the main theme's of this movie and definitely something that hooked my attention throughout the second half of the movie.
However, it is also important to note the negative side of the movie (atleast how I felt in the first half). I think while the movie is a slow burner, with the story only really unfolding towards half-way, the first half of the movie definitely gave me the feeling that while people make mistakes in their life, it is only on the 3rd attempt that they start to get it right. Now I understand that everyone is different, but I found it really difficult to watch everyone hurting around the Sam (sorry I dont know the actresses name) and yet she couldn't help anyone around her until she had relived the day a few more times.
After rewatching a couple sections of the movie and reading a bit more into the storyline I now understand why she lived her last day without regrets and why she tried to make everything perfect on her last day but I guess for me one of the saddest parts of the movie is that she (knowing it was her last day) didn't take her sister out for that morning adventure to the lake (as shown in the day before)... it was so beautifully shown and I think that it should've been part of her last day instead.
I am sorry if I haven written this terribly, like I said it is just based on emotion and I have also never written a review.
Thank you to anyone made it this far down my review and honestly to anyone who has ever experienced mental illness whether that is yourself or someone you know, I am always happy to chat, anytime.
