As an avid longtime fan of the Dragon Age games, I must just start by saying WOW! This game has seriously set a new benchmark, and completely disregarding negative bias this is an excellent addition to this franchise.
THE STORY is compelling and interesting, following on from the events from the past few games loosely whilst still tying in enough to hit you with that nostalgic childhood feeling.
THE COMBAT is refreshing and frankly my personal favorite system so far. I loved Inquisition for its combat, but this system feels so much more refined and the abilities feel much more impacting on those more challenging fights.
THE CHARACTERS are both interesting and the most impactful we’ve ever had in this franchise. All decisions made affect relationships, and not just in a generic way, but they shape both the personality and how the characters react to Rook and the current world events.
THE WORLD is absolutely stunning and follows closely with the traditional map/level designs as seen in previous DA entries. The directional map stages allow you to head straight to your intended quest area, or wander off and explore hidden pathways if you so desire.
Overall, absolute 10/10 instalment. After dumping nearly 80+ hours into multiple characters I can comfortably say this is my new favourite entry. With outstanding boss fights and downright visually stunning graphics, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has definitely won my heart over as a traditional Dragon Age game. Cannot wait until DLC content arrives!
