It's a Very Welcome breath of fresh air for it includes me, respects me, inspires me and honors black women, men and families without shying away from culturally taboo issues. More Articulettes, Martin, Smitty, their children, June, Naomi, Dani, Nicole and I miss Maurice Johnson as "Dr. Ted Richardson ". Here's to 20 more seasons of Beyond the Gates!!!! Black excellence is often undervalued and overlooked by those who have been taught to degrade us and to fear us. The Six Triple Eight movie is a love letter long overdue to the black women who paved the way for me and millions like me including the beyond excellent writing, acting direction, portrayal of these precious brilliant women who endured yet their love and devotion shone through!! I am especially impressed by the actress who portrayed Lena Derriecott and Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams who delivered my soul from the depths of Novembers derelict election of of one as loathsome as General Holt. This film is worthy of an Academy Award. Thank you is too little but all I can give for this masterful Six Triple Eight. Courses from high school through doctorate level should have the Six Triple Eight film as the centerpiece of instruction. I hug and salute all the cast and the direction of Mr. Tyler Perry. Amen.
