I loved it, I have never laughed so much in my life. I read it with Mr Google by my side, and did my own fact checking, and the level of inaccuracies and blatant falsehoods, even regarding well publicised and easily researched events, was staggering, if not a little disturbing at times. Some of these events I actually remember myself, no fact checking required. That said, it is pure marketing and money-making genius, obviously gleaned from their experience with Netflicks, who until recently, thanks to Dame Judy Dench and John Major (in Oct 2022, see I can fact check), had to include the disclaimer stating that ‘The Crown’ was indeed ‘FICTIONAL’, but for sometime allowed many beleaguered souls to believe it is a “real” account of the Royal Family. Harry & Megs know their market - The Crown watchers. They also knew the Palace has a ‘no comment, no engagement’ policy, and have the media as a scapegoat backup plan. Brilliant. I would love to see the UK lob their still legitimate High Treason Laws over Harry’s bow, we all want to see ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ 😁.
Read it if you want but take it with a grain of salt, and don’t pay full price, make sure you get it for half price as I did on its day of launch, which might seem odd but is a standard marketing ploy to get high volume sales quickly encouraging others to buy who probably wouldn’t. It’s also a long game strategy, to help sales of subsequent books. Even at half price it was still too expensive.
