This is an older Uhtred, as it should be. The younger Uhtred would never have lost his sword to a couple of young hooligans. The reality is, old guys don’t rule and as in real life, Uhtred must bargain for his sword rather than retrieve it by combat. In his waiting years, Uhtred is ruled by his code of honor and even though his powers are diminished by age, he still stays true his oath of loyalty. Always great writing in this series and the last episode is no exception. It will be missed.
