I thought this movie was acted in realistic way. I couldn’t tell they were acting. It almost seems that the actors ad- libbed when it is more likely straight from the page. This theme of mothers who want their daughters to live the mother’s dream is often seen in white characters but rarely in black characters- nice to see it centered around a very black holiday
