1 and 2 star reviewers: Do you not understand the concepts of satire and parody? The entire point of this series to take the original Ms & Mrs Smith and flip its entire genre on its head, literally creating the *opposite* and mining the disregarded spaces for authentic human experience. Case in point, there are references to all sorts of established spy fiction including, for example, James Bond movies with ridiculous ski sequences; mad magazine's spy vs spy (Glover in white, Erskine in black in EP 08), etc.
Additionally, the guest actors are some of the most renowned writers (ie. Michaela Coel), indie film stars (Parker Posey), and intergenerational legacy actors (Alexander Skarsgård) working today. Do you think people like that show up for trash? Hilarious to read someone call AS' role a waste of his talent like, dude, AS undoubtedly REQUESTED a spot in this production because he has his pick of gigs and clearly likes to have fun with roles. Casting overall was perfection. I LOVE that Glover and Erskine aren't obviously slick spy in appearance. Again, that's the point - to invert the genre, and frankly, it probably helps them get actual work done since walking around looking like Pitt or jolie is hardly a way to evade attention and go incognito
I swear, some people really like to be spoonfed Top 40 quality film and television. Try reading The Prophet, or just any book, really. This show is talking about you, and I think **that** is what you didn't like 😅
