Perhaps I’m biased.
I’ve been an extremely die-hard loyal fan of Terrifier since 2018 when he was still super underground. He instantly became my favorite slasher of all time. Which is weird to say after just one $35k indie movie that nobody knew about.
But with Damien Leone’s mind, vision, and creative genius… and David Howard Thornton’s understanding and physicality…
The early 1980’s grindhouse atmosphere…
It all just resonated with me immediately.
Been so proud of following their journey and seeing all of which they’ve accomplished and achieved.
I have to say this might be my favorite installment thus far. I don’t think the gore nor the controversy was nearly as “bad” (gruesome) as many people are saying… In fact, the “yellow-room scene” affected me more than this films “shower scene”.
However, that’s not to say the kills aren’t extremely exciting, creative, or original. They definitely are.
And the makeup/practical effects are jaw-dropping… *wink wink*
Once again, Damien creates such a captivating atmosphere in which Christmas compliments perfectly.
It’s by far the funniest of the three, so if you enjoy Terrifier for Art’s quirky antics, then you’ll definitely be very pleased with this one.
But as funny as it is, they also went back to their roots of the first one in terms of knowing when to be serious. And this new installment is definitely much darker than the previous two.
And let’s give it up for Lauren LaVera…
A f#%king POWERHOUSE of an actress.
Her acting impressed me a great deal in ‘T2’, and she delivers an even stronger performance in this one.
