This is a good learning aid, using mostly intermediate-level Spanish. In the early episodes there are several children's show exercises, focusing on beginner-level Spanish, but these don't fit with most of the intermediate-level dialogue. What makes this series approachable for the beginner is a ridiculous abuse of footage/scene repetition. Each episode begins with a teaser and a recap, and ends with a review quiz and a teaser. In addition, more than a handful of episodes are devoted to plot review. If at first you struggle to recognize a single word in a scene, turn on subtitles and break out Google Translate. You'll be able to lip-sync the actors by the 5th repetition. The plot has some dramatic twists, and if it were edited down to half the runtime, it would be enjoyable for native speakers.
