A shit show. Incredibly slow paced. By the end of the fifth episode you’re just watching to get to the end. Unnecessarily dragged out to 8 episodes.

Perfect.. everything about this movie was perfect. I felt the helplessness of the black guy on trial, the anger at the openly racist and unqualified judge, the patriotism of the 7.. such a powerful, soul stirring movie. Must watch. Not your ordinary courtroom drama.

Awesome movie. Many lessons learnt. Especially relevant today.. so many women coming out with their #metoo stories. Who will give them justice? As a society we are supposed to show them the same empathy that Devki(Sridevi) in the film, shows toward her step daughter Arya (Sajal Ali). Not brush it under the carpet, or downplay it, or the worst, say it never happened and that the victims are doing this as a publicity stunt. Everyone in the reviews praised Sridevi's acting.. yes, she is brilliant, as always. But special mention for Sajal Ali as the rape victim who is trying to recover from not just the physical, but the psychological trauma after rape. I was blown away. I cried with her. The others have done justice to their roles. Must watch family film.

Everyone was good... But Helen Mirren knocked it out of the park.

The struggle of a single mother, trying to escape from her violent partner, finding financial independence and the courage to follow her dreams, all while taking care of her infant daughter. So so inspiring. I laughed and cried with Alex. Rooted hard for her to win. And jumped with joy when she finally finds her wings. Absolutely brilliant, must watch. Realistic portrayal of the very sad state of domestic violence victims.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful movie. Every Asian kid would relate to the movie. The pressure to perform (read: losing self) while trying to gain the mother’s approval, teen craziness over a boy band, extremely controlling mother in the name of care …and so many more things really really struck a chord and stayed with me long after watching the movie. It’s a must watch and I’ll be re watching a few times.

Gripping from the get go. Somewhat like the English movie Knives Out, sans the comedy.

Good message, could've been executed better

Grossly underrated. One of the few movies that actually talk about bad parenting and the importance of a stable person in a child's life. This is reality- domestic violence and homes where kids become parents, to their own parents. I'm glad this story was told. This one has a happy ending, but most of them don't. This movie raises awareness of this important issue in society. Also brilliantly made.
