As a well deserved Hugo and Nebula award winning book. Orson Scott Card had attempted to get this movie made several times, but was always unsatisfied with the clauses found in legal agreements stating the production company had the right to make changes as they saw fit. My guess is he gave up. Ender's Game is a remarkable story that was better suited for a mini-series in capable hands. Ender's Game has too much internal subtleties to be directed in a ham-fisted and rather clunky manner. The fault clearly lies with the director approving cuts and takes where the dialogue was spit out rapid-fire with no tonal inflection or pauses to let emotion have it's place in helping create narrative that the audience could relate with. All characters are portrayed like planks of wood. Perhaps, one day this book will get the adaptation it so richly deserves. Until then let this one go by.
