If I could rate this book lower, I would have. C.J. Box was my favorite author. I have been very upset over Mr. Box’s losing his mind with the publication of the TV series Joe Pickett. That man who portrayed Joe Pickup was not Joe Pickett. This man was a wuss with a weird hat. The CGI was awful and the elk attacking the truck was again ridiculous. I can’t believe that Mr. Box sold out his character like that. That being said, I bought 3 inch teeth and hoarded it because I was so excited to have a new Joe Pickett book. Let me tell you I got maybe a third of the way through or earlier with it and the terrible concept of cutting off a grizzly bears legs from a dead bear and having anyone assumed that a live bear had killed people, there would’ve been no hair, no saliva, no tracks, etc. etc. etc. After Mr. box, let Dulsey survive the massacre at the court. He had to kill her off anyway. I finally gave up and went to the end of the book to see if anyone had survived. He decided that Liv was expendable, Dulcey was expendable, Clay Junior was expendable, the warden was expendable, and so on. The sub plot with Sheridan was ridiculous. I guess he thought Nate had been too domesticated. Well, after all these years of buying these books and enjoying the Joe Pickett series, I am done. I returned the book to Audible for a full credit. I have never been so disappointed in my life.
