I hate backing down on positions I previously held. After I picked this movie to watch with my friend, I kept thinking at every excessively unfunny and cringeworthy moment, 'Oh, that's not so bad,' or 'At least they didn't do _,' but I just can't. The trailer looked good, but anything funny out of context in the trailer was barely funny in context, if at all. It's also aged fairly poorly and all of the outdated stuff, I try to think it must have been funny at some point, but it's just painfully unfunny. The jokes weren't unfunny because they were offensive. They were unfunny; being offensive was just a bonus.
Of course, the R-word has since become less and less acceptable, but the way they said it wasn't really that bad, it was sort of just in passing.
It's not like I hate offensive things either, I just prefer them to at least be funny. The reason I give this 2 stars instead of one is because the trailer was really good; best part of the movie, hands down.
