This is one of those films where if you get it, you get it, and if you don’t, you’re missing out. It illustrated how women are so pressured to stay beautiful and youthful to the point where we’ll do anything no matter how dangerous. The substance represents Botox, fillers, BBLs, countless injections, ozempic, all these substances that we’re pumping our bodies with in order to be what the world perceives as beautiful. I love that the main character is played by Demi Moore because she is stunning and the way she self-loathed in the movie is indicative of how so many beautiful women tear themselves apart chasing perfection that doesn’t actually exist when they are already beautiful. I could write an entire thesis on this film but I’ll leave it at that. It is very gory but the gore tells a story of self-destruction both physically and mentally. You really have to think while watching this movie.
