The first time I watched this film I felt disappointed I think being a fan of the original it came across as a bit lacking. For example lady Jessica seemed very drab she's supposed to be the Duke's wife and practising the voice (not very well) over a bowl of coco pops with Paul wasn't the best start to the film especially if you didn't understand what was going on or what it meant. The personal shields seemed naff too especially compared to the original and pointless as to they're effectiveness . But watching it again you come to appreciate the fantastic cinematography and its so different to the original it would have been boring if it had been just a rehash. It just seems in some areas they cut the budget. What really disappointed me was that now I have to wait for part2. I would definitely recommend watching this film if your a fan but if you are new to the whole Dune genre you might be left scratching your head as to what exactly is going on.
