I was VERY sceptical but decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. It was nostalgic while still fresh enough, and the changes/additions to the original script that were designed to ensure this remake would be seen as sufficiently... relevant (or "woke" enough) for present day weren't (that) cringey. Casting was excellent.
All in all, a very pleasant surprise!
