In my opinion, the movie is a step in the right direction for DC. But there is still a long ways to go. If I had to rate the movie elements I would give it this: Visuals: 9 Camera Work: 8 Story: 7 Arthur Character Development: 5 Mera Character Development: 5 CGI: 9 Villains: 8 Plot: 7 Costume: 5 Subplots: 5 I liked the movie, but I felt the protagonists were a bit stereotypical and that the romance between Arthur and Mera was too cliche and the movie would have been better without it. Also (spoilers) I feel Arthur’s mother being alive was cliche as well, and though they made it work with the movie, I would have preferred it not happen.

Honestly, this was the best Marvel movie I have ever watched. The visuals were absolutely stunning, the characters were incredibly well developed, and the blend of action and comedy meant viewers couldn’t tear their gaze from the screen.
