One of the BEST Dramas in years! A very Apollo 13 vibe throughout, the deliciously realistic science and intense space-travel scenarios are surpassed by the powerful family drama and the touching evolution of the crew's relationships with one another.
Magnificent writing and acting -- Swank and others are at their best here, and you can't help but fall in love with every one of the characters, each far more complex and heroic in their own ways than is obvious at the outset.
This is MANDATORY viewing, for the powerful positive messages and the important questions -- answered and unanswered -- that feel ultra-relevant in our current troubled world.
There is much we don't yet know at the end of season one which leaves plenty of material for a follow-up, and I'm eager to revisit the story and especially these beautiful characters. But unlike SO many shows today, which leave the viewer hanging with an empty void of uncertainty (and which completely ruins the show if a second season is never delivered), the emotional fulfillment of the season one finale left me feeling sated enough that, even if the show were canceled, it would still be a powerful and complete drama that is entirely worth the experience of watching. In the end, the viewer will take something "away" from that experience that will change them for the better, if they let it.
