I'm a fan of interesting jazz, and the Strata-East label seems to have picked up where Blue Note left off (having generally opted for more commercial records, post sale). No drums? No problems. The 7 pianists (with some additional percussive elements) weave mind-bending, rhythmic and engrossing passages into what appears to have been a magical night of contemporary jazz in New York, 1973.
