I really wanted to enjoy The Materialist, but for me it fell flat. The story didnโt seem to have a clear focusโit felt like a mix of different plotlines that never fully came together. Instead of building toward a strong main point, it just drifted, which made it hard to stay engaged. Unfortunately, Dakota Johnson is just a horrible actor.
