Very poorly written. It was at best annoying and nauseating most of the time. Verbose does not equal profound. I wanted to throw the book in the bin so many times, wondering why the hell I was subjecting myself to this, but was determined to finish it in case there was anything worthwhile to glean from it. So many unnecessary sentences that contributed absolutely nothing to the story and were seemingly written by a 10 year old. Something about the seagulls in the scenery 'making those noises seagulls like to make.' Why?? The inclusion of quotes was ridiculously over the top and at times there were four on a single page! So painful. I don't understand. Perhaps Robin should have spent more time trying to write something quotable instead. Time in my life just wasted. I'm actually embarrassed to say that I read the whole thing. I would never pick up another of Robin's books again. Absolute shocker.
