I think it was one of the best movies I've ever seen depicting the effects of alcoholism and addiction in general on a person. It showed how an attractive, charming person with an incredible career can fool themselves into thinking they have no problem when in reality, their life is a charade hiding a huge dependency on alcohol, drugs, and the lies to cover the truth.
