I saw the 1972 movie of the week on ABC when it first broadcast. I was 10 yrs old and remember all the talk about it, lots of people saw it. It was the most watched tv movie ever at that time. It has stuck with me since. I have seen it several times over the past 50 yrs and still enjoy it. Darren McGavin as Kolchack was perfect and no dialogue from the vampire just added to the mystic. Always told myself, "it could never happen here".
