Embarrassing waste of time and money this movie is, and I'm not talking about my time or money being wasted, I'm talking about whoever made this film and the company. What has happened to movies? Whoever wrote this and directed produced whatever should be getting a scolding. Absolutely wasted opportunity and plot with terrible script. Can writers these days not write a female character without them having their whole personality on them just talking about how they are a woman? Or skin colour? You're making a mockery of female characters and you're lazy and doing more harm than good. Movie could of been a cheap entertaining film if it had more effort written into the plot and script. At no time in this film did I feel excited, nervous or on edge of my seat. I knew nothing at all was going to happen to anyone. Which how am I meant to feel for any of these cartoony characters? I dont Let's talk about the villain played by Antony Starr, firstly his acting was so distracting because it was exactly his acting in the boys and playing homelander. Same puppy dog eyes, same hand gestures, same talking mannerisms and even laugh. Even hairstyle for God sake. If you haven't seen the show he might look really good in this, but I was so distracted by him and his acting that I couldn't take him seriously. Guy wants to distance himself from the homelander character and hates that character so much, yet he doesn't have much of a acting range other than playing exactly that. He shouldn't of taken this role. I don't know much about the lead actress but you could tell she is talented but came so much more aggravating watching her because the script and movie was terrible, so it looked so out of place. Story is lazy, script horrible, I don't know how this is being rated 5 stars. Call it for how it is. I'm not saying this movie is bad to jump on a band wagon here, it is actually bad. And could of been better if they didn't lazily write characters and the plot to be so damn predictable and preachy. Can we not just have a entertaining movie with a female lead who kicks ass that doesn't have to mention that she is female and black or whatever all the time? Give her a personality. Hollywood disappointing with these movies. Go watch kill Bill much more worth the time
