A compelling and well acted hospital show, with lots of interesting characters. Nurses are stoic bit players here while doctors are depicted as available and compassionate, which is not necessarily the case in hospitals, ER or otherwise, in my experience. Quite the opposite. So, while definitely worth watching, including the gory parts, the doctor and nurse narrative isn’t entirely realistic to me, but I’d guess the ER chaos and drama in inner city Pittsburgh is spot on.
