After getting Kay's anatomy for my kids I got This Is Going To Hurt. My mum died recently not in Gynae ward (she was eighty), and I wanted to understand the NHS more. I'm not sure if this book does that but it has really strengthened my respect for the medical profession. Adam's dry slightly angsty wit really chimes with me. It had me LOLing all over the place.
