Office politics, protest groups, rough neighborhoods, racism, sacrifices and difficulties are something that other cop shows try to avoid but Blue Bloods has completely embraced which is what makes this show quite enjoyable and great.
However there is one aspect of the show that is completely out of sync with the rest and that is the Regan Family.
Typically when a show revolves around a single family they usually have struggles, problems and ordeals that they struggle with greatly and are able to overcome eventually thus allowing the audience to connect with them. However the Regan family is a looping cycle of a family member facing a problem and overcoming it in the span of an episode making them look like the perfect family which doesn't exist even in fiction. And this goes against the tv show's realistic theme.
