SPOILERS!!!!
Just okay. I thought the concept was interesting, but the movie got kinda boring pretty fast. It felt like the killer was really goofy, and didn't even try to kill Maddie. I get that he intentionally stated at the beginning that he wouldn't kill her outright, but only after she "begged for death" or something. This made the back and forth tension of "will she live or die?" feel pointless. Like, there were so many opportunities for him to do something but he didn't.
Basically, I personally feel that the tension of whether or not characters will beat a villain in a horror movie is kinda what drives the conflict and builds drama. As the killer explicitly avoids killing Maddie, it feels like the conflict is undermined and completely artificial, like the only reason the fight is happening is because one party isn't trying to their fullest.
Also, way too many back and forth shots and shots of breathing and staring out windows(I guess it's like building tension, but it just kinda felt like dead space, like it was random filler and I found these scenes boring)
Jump scares weren't scary, and I'll actually admit that I can't pinpoint why. Usually I enjoy them, but for some reason, here I didn't really feel any reaction.
Overall, fine, but kinda boring, 4/10
