Took my son (5) and daughter (8) to see this today. I thought the film got better as it went along. Both of my children liked it and there were some really great characters in the story. I was going to say that this wasn't my favourite childrens movie, but it isn't a movie for me. There was something quite innocent about the movie and it doesn't venture into trying to throw in jokes for adults in an effort to try and entertain adults. It's a bit of a nostalgic look back at a classic children's book without sending it too far in the future. A great family movie probably aimed at 9 years and younger.

I worked out what was going on within about 30 minutes of watching it, so for me, the ending was too obvious. It felt as though they had run out of ideas. I wasn't attached to each of the siblings as I wanted to feel. It felt as though the producer/directors created an ending that was designed for an American audience in mind where there has to be happy ending and where plot lines have to resolve themselves. For me, it just okay and could have been a lot better.
