Whilst a little predictable and lacking any kind of horror or thrill. The movie is a pretty entertaining monster flick. With a fresh reasoning behind the monster and adding in a pretty good side-story, the film, overall is a fairly good watch. It's a slow start, however, and certain parts tend to drag just a little too long for my liking. Overall a solid "okay" film.

I'm rather torn on this movie. It's short but engaging. It's gripping but doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. It falls prey to the usual horror tropes, yet claims that it's intentional to say a message. What that message IS? I honestly couldn't tell you. The film tries to make the message of Random Acts of Violence. (Ehhh? They said the title of the movie, IN the MOVIE!) Yet all the violence seen in the film was intentionally done by the serial killer. Is this a commentary? Characters start to act like their tropey selves once things start to kick off, yet get called out on it almost immediately. Is this a commentary? Had this been a simple slasher, it would've been fine. The fact that they try to preach a message makes it a muddled mess of a story with a very pretty bow added on top.
