I came to watch this movie with a very open mindset, as I understand the morally fault of catfishing people and the represent of Jimmy Yang (a geeky, stereotypical Asian dude). The plot is quite refreshing and cheeky for me since I find other genres suit my taste while it was very enjoyable to follow through and what's a Christmas movie without some kind of singing.
The characters act out is charming, funny and lively. While this may not be a movie for everyone especially those who find the two points shown above. I find this an empowering movie for not only Asian/American male adolescent and also of all male adolescent who suffering from body and stereotypical images in dating life. It is a strong example of Jimmy to really show his true personality being embraced by Nina Dobrev (as Natalie).
The depiction is just a small representation of life and only serve entertainment purposes - I find it heart-warming, full of drama just as in real life (shorten in hour and a half), and would highly recommend it viewers with an open mindset.
