Stalker Anomaly is superior. This story-line is linear by comparison. The play is interesting, though sometimes overly boring in the problem solving sense. Absolutely no strategy aspect is included- totally driven by the imperative of the designers. Superior graphics and map size do not compensate for freedom. More like Half- life 2 on steroids than a continuation of the franchise. Waited for years to be disappointed. Somewhere along the line the ambition over-rode the focus. Perhaps it was a commercial decision to construct the game in this way. I don't play many other games, so can only speculate that it may be the expected format, but as a long standing fan of the previous releases, the essence has been lost, and I'll go back to the amazing fan made Stalker Anomaly.
