People who are saying that the film is just "torture porn" or that it doesn't actually spread awareness, right down to Megan discussing her SA when she was ten being unrealistic.
Spoilers: Megan is SA'd when she's ten years old by a camp counselor and she talks about it with Amy like it was something casual. She also talks about her step dad using her for two years and her mother doing nothing about it. It's clear she never got treatment for her trauma so she's using drugs, alcohol and sex to cope. People also said that the party scene was too unrealistic because it wasn't a "middle school party." It's clear that most of the people there were older and not meant to be middle schoolers.
If you're a minor, don't watch this movie like the other reviewer who was 14. Yes it's traumatic and the last half hour is terrible. But these are things that happen and honestly it's a great job to the people who made it because it doesn't sugarcoat the horrors of what has and can happen to young girls being abducted. It's also important so that people don't get ideas of meeting strangers online. I won't watch it again, but I did feel something for it. I won't say I enjoyed it, because if you did enjoy it, that's a little concerning lol
