Niilonanako Kojima

One word to describe this movie: "boring" I was so hyped up for this movie but it was definitely a let-down. Ok, so first of all it is extremely underdeveloped. It doesn't even explain most of the details of the concept, even the important ones. I think that's why I just couldn't get in to the story, it didn't catch my interest. The concept of the story actually had potential but the problem is that they explained the concept when it was MORE THAN HALFWAY into the movie. I think this is the case for most of boring movies. It doesn't have a proper-made concept, bad characters, story being rushed, little explanations. It felt like the movie was leaving the audience behind. The romance was so unnecessary too. It felt so out of place that it felt weird for them to be doing all of those romantic scenes when they have a huge age gap and have only met for 3 days. Actually, I thought there wasn't meant to be any romance in this story. But when it hits the climax, out of nowhere the mc suddenly confesses that she loves the male lead, and would sacrifice her life for him. It felt super one-sided love. Mind you, the mc is still in first grade of high school and the male lead is a grad student that wants to be a TEACHER. I had such high hopes for this movie since it was made by Shinkai Makoto who made amazing movies such as Weathering with you and Your name. But this was such a let-down. Would never watch this movie again.
