More often than not, movies show us only the first or last part of a love story. Rarely do we get to see the story at multiple stages of a personโs life in such detail. Sure, we are mostly getting Takakiโs point of view, and Akari is absent for the most part - but we get Takakiโs story in such depth and detail that we can feel his pain every step of the way. Also, this makes us appreciate the complexity of his emotions all the more.
