Ken Edwards is the sole researcher and author of the Yulunga: Traditional Indigenous Games resource for the Australian Sports Commission (ASC). This is recognised in the original contract and acknowledged on the Yulunga website. This resource is substantially based on a book, Choopadoo: Games from the Dreamtime written by Ken Edwards well before the Yulunga project.
Troy Meston was a student at QUT who was the research assistant for the Yulunga project and also the Indigenous co-consultant to provide an Indigenous perspective to the project. He looked after travel and administrative aspects and did occasional research. Troy provided notes on three games which were acknowledged in Yulunga. It was a harmonious relationship.
For reasons best known to him Troy Meston, for some years, has claimed to be co-author of the Yulunga resource and has written articles with others with this claim. Troy Meston is NOT the author/co-author of Yulunga. He DID NOT contribute to the writing or design of the resource. For the sake of academic honesty Troy Meston should not be referenced as the co-author.
