___Spoiler alert___
Overview:
After watching the show's final season (season 3), I can safely say that this show isn't even Kung Fu Panda. It has nothing to do with kung fu and Po got nerfed really hard to the point that he isn't useful much in combat. Also, in season 3, after Alfie becomes evil, Po gets held back by his self-doubt and gives up. This invalidates all of Po's experiences and skills he learned in the trilogy since this show takes place after the trilogy. There are some continuity errors present too, for example, Mr. Ping (Po's dad) abandoned his pirate queen (I forget her name) because he chose to raise Po instead of staying with his pirate queen but in the movies he found Po in a food crate and adopted him. This is why I don't consider this series to be canon with the movies. The only references from the movies are prominent names like shifu and oogway, however, there is no mention of the Furious Five (well at least none that I can remember). They should have called this show "The Dragon Knight Feat Po and His Dad" because Blade seems more like the main character than Po. Po feels more like a side character.
Po- Dragon Knight Po barely resembles his trilogy counterpart other than he likes to eat a lot and gets distracted. He is more child-like and is weaker in combat and a bit more incompetent.
Mr. Ping (Po's dad)- Po's dad is pretty similar to his trilogy counterpart. He always wants what is best for Po and looks out for him. But his past connection to pirates is what is off-putting. Mr. Ping being a pirate doesn't seem like something that fits his character.
Blade- she is very passive-aggressive and comes off as unfriendly, especially in the first season. These kinds of characteristics makes her unlikable.
Klause and Veruca- These two were a bit annoying in the first two seasons. Veruca betraying klause was kinda predictable considering how she was more power hungry than klause. In season 3, their backstories were fleshed out, which I enjoyed. However, Veruca's death was underwhelming, to say the least. I like how klause realized that the weapons were causing harm and joined Po and the gang, which is good character development. It's not really explained why Veruca suddenly becomes good after she dies, which is a bit odd.
Collin (deer guy)- this guy was not memorable at all for seasons 1 and 2. He was just a guy who came on screen for a few scenes, not really doing anything significant. In season 3 however, the writers actually gave him a purpose. He joined Po and the gang to defeat alfie. So he was originally a bad guy but became good. One particular thing I didn't like is how he got shot by an arrow at the end of one episode but in the very next episode, he was completely fine and unwounded. Another weird thing I questioned is how Collin knew where to meet Po and the gang after he was left in the lost underground city.
Wayman (lizard guy)- why the hell was this character even in the show? This character served no purpose. He just showed up randomly whenever the show wanted him to. Nothing special or memorable about him. I totally forgot he existed until I saw him again in season 3.
Monkey lady- this character is decent. Nothing much to say other than she likes to steal things and cracks a few jokes now and then. She has a backstory too.
green bird (aukna)- she is my favorite character in the whole show. Her personality is quite likable. She even has a backstory to her character too.
Blade's mom- I initially thought she was gonna be another insignificant side character but she played quite a significant role in helping Po and the gang defeat alfie.
