Sid Syam

This account of the bond between a highly intelligent and engaging octopus and a film maker is a deeply moving and spiritual experience. Like the film maker himself, I felt drawn to the enthralling octopus that reached out to a human for friendship in the magical depths of the ocean. I am very grateful to Craig Foster for providing us this account of his experience that led me to feel (albeit second-hand) kinship, bonding, and, yes, affection for a creature that appeared, on the surface, to be so different from humans. I can only imagine how profoundly moving the experience was for Craig.
