Felt like I missed the whole point of the book.
Each story has a plot, protagonist, antagonist, side characters, character development, setting, etc.
I must say, this is the worst book I've ever laid my hands on. The protagonist is extremely unlikeable, the antagonist is never really explained, as it is a whole organization but the leader was never introduced and the members have 2 pages of screen time. Plus, there are way too many side characters to keep track of.
There really isn't much character development at all, not even for the main character. Plus, it feels like all of them are sharing a single brain cell, because the main character is useless, some of the side characters basically have schizophrenia, one of them has basically no dialogue, and over half of the relevant female characters for some reason have a past about sexual assault. The idea is a bad thing, but it's used twice and is so shallow it doesn't make me feel bad for the characters at all.
Moving on, the setting where the story takes place is a world "destroyed by global warming." It doesn't even seem that bad since there is still snow and frost. Not sure if the author forgot what book she was writing, because there is still wildlife, healthy plants, and flowing rivers.
And the plot? Running. It's just running. The plot was so disappointing. There's nothing interesting in walking, over-description of surroundings, settling down, more walking, and losing a side character. If that wasn't bad enough, there's romance between two minors, where one scene there is almost porn. Why does that have to be in the book? All it did was make the story worse, because it adds nothing. Not just that, but it's cringy, cheesy, and honestly makes me feel extremely uncomfortable reading.
In summary, basically everything about the book is bad.
