Beautifully filmed and this was one of the highlights for me. Interesting character studies. The lady of the house tells her maid, Jane, how fortunate she is to have been born an orphan. As though Jane couldnt have possibly endured any heartbreaqk of tragedy in her life. Colin Firth was his reliable, solid self and becomes increasingly interesting with age. I enjoyed the music and if it hadn't been so good it would have been irritating. and that wasn't the case. It was difficult to see Glenda Jackson as she is now but this is whaat we all have ahead of us if we live long enough. The nudity was quite lovely , male and female.
