This isnt a bad film at all.Its more along the lines of "seen it all before".If youre home alone watching this film,im sure itll scare you.There are alot of jump scares which some people dont like,but being that the demon in this film is frightening in its own right,the jump scares makes her even more frightening in my opinion.The plot isnt deep at all but good enough to absorb you into the lure of la llorona's backstory.The actors all did a great job and are very convincing in their roles.My only complaints are we've pretty much seen these horror story "events" before.From the person being dragged across the floor, haunting silhouettes in a mirror, to holy water and crosses being items of protection that dont completely work,it feels like youve seen it all before...Bottom line is if youre looking for a frightening movie thats simple and not overly plot driven this is your film.Looking for something deep with completely fleshed out characters and plot twists and turns search else where.id personally give this film a 7.5 out of 10.
