I loved this movie. The only complaint I even have is that I want more of this movie and was sad when it came to an end ๐ญ
I have been a fan of his music since he came out with Trilogy. I will never forget listening to Wicked Games the first time and feeling so connected. His music helped me through some of my hardest moments in my life. I felt like this film was a masterpiece as it tied into his beginning as well as the end of his path as the weeknd we all know. this movie was intended more for his early fans as we have all grown with him all these years and have come to points in our lives to where we had to let go our "weeknd" side to grow and transform into our 30s and up as well as try to heal from our pasts. Anyone I know that loved his stuff in the beginning were all survivors of trauma or bad childhoods. I related so much as I had a similar upbringing to him as well as faced a few near death experiences and trauma that forced me to face the scary unknown places to make it tomorrow in recent years. Sleep paralysis and awful flashbacks of the past were very hard to overcome ๐ช the movie spoke to me as I had to close the loop in order for myself to heal or I wasn't going to continue. Seeing a few of those scenes were almost too much for me to watch as it stirred up a few places I am still healing from
At the end, where he stares into the mirror facing himself and transformed was powerful. Finally he became whole in a sense as he accepted his true self all sides and all as well as his past. That was what he showed us in the end that he is now to himself in the highest power and reborn in a sense. Maybe he is a bit darker inside or embraced the light?
No longer the weeknd but the truest of himself ... Abel only?
Can't wait to see the next projects he comes out with as I think he may just be getting started. Maybe he is into his new path or maybe more trilogies to come from or hes reached as far as he wants to go now. Guess we shall see but im intrigued โค๏ธ
