Edit 1/25/2020: I bought the royal edition after all of these years because it was on sale. All of the stuff that should have been in the game at launch was in it and it made a HUGE difference. It's not a great story, it's not a perfect game, but this time around I had fun playing it. The flying regalia is absolutely amazing!
Original review from playing the game when it first came out:
I beat the main storyline in less than 20 hours if I remember correctly. I did very few side missions because this final fantasy simply lacked enough storytelling to pull me in. The ending was terrible, the beginning was terrible, the middle was completely left out.
It's been 2.5 years since I've played FFXV and I can remember barely anything about the story(because there wasn't one). However, if you were to ask me questions about FFVII I would rattle the answers off like Alexa.
If you want to buy this game, wait until it is dirt cheap and they include all DLC. Which I'm sure must be where the rest of the game is hiding.
