The first 200 pages were essentially set up - background, various factions, the people Maali worked for, the afterlife - but necessary for things to drop into place later. I struggled at times, but blasted through the last half in a day and couldn't put it down - definitely worth it! Think Salman Rushdie meets Agatha Christie and sprinkle in The Good Place. The ending is wonderful.
